Opoeia Retreat has now officially closed, but the campsite is Still Available for Hire and is as beautiful as ever. The property is now back to its original name 'Sokil' and is run by some very nice people who are eager to provide the same unique service.

ONE DOOR CLOSES: Opoeia will seek a new property in a couple of years. It is an end to Opoeia’s first episode. It has been a fantastic and eventful five years and we thank you for all your support throughout.

ANOTHER DOOR OPENS: The new people who now run the property loved the unique style we had created and will do their best to continue with it. Plus they are including some new renovations, improving upon the existing buildings to make them more suitable as an all year round camp. The bungalows will be divided into more family sized rooms with better heating and will have new balconies over looking the valley. And the large hall will be renovated as more of a cosier indoor space. Plus all the fun and creative Activities and Workshops we offered at Opoeia, that no other camp offers, are still available for you.

One day soon Opoeia will attempt a new experiment as an intentional community nurturing a space for creative active cross-cultural involvement, or some other crazy idea. Until then we hope other new and interesting properties will form and improve upon what we have achieved.

AND ANOTHER DOOR OPENS: Meanwhile Opoeia is now branching out into the film world. We are developing a new website to sell downloadable independent films worldwide direct from the filmmakers. So if you or someone you know produce films and seek alternative ways in getting you’re work sold out in the world, get in contact with us. This new project could also make available to us the opportunity to actually own the next property rather than leasing.

Opoeia is one of a kind amongst Australia’s recreational based camps partly due to the variety of facilitated activities we offer. We do provide recreational activities, as well as a large range of more creative-based, challenging, and insightful activities, and environmental/cultural talks and discussions. Weddings
We can help plan a unique and exciting bush retreat wedding from the most intimate to the outrageously extravagant, with natural ceremony settings, or with a more traditional yet unique chapel, fully catered reception, a vast array of entertainment, A large Hall with dining and a lounge, a decorated reception courtyard area, and a variety of accommodation styles.
